There are many different types of trauma affecting children, but they are all similar in that they all leave a mark on the brain that affects children's development. Like fleeing war, leaving home, it is a trauma that leaves a deep and lasting mark, even a lifelong trauma. The children concerned need support and help.
Based on our methodology, together with social workers, we provide playful development sessions for children in several refugee camps. We organise after school sessions, pre-school and summer camps for them, among others.
Our aim is to minimize the impact of the horrors of war and displacement on refugee children, and to help them avoid developmental and behavioural problems. It is therefore important to provide them with a safe, developmentally supportive environment and programmes.
