Celebrate Children's Day with us at Bartók Pagony!
Board games are fun for everyone, but what if they aren’t working for your child?
Join us on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for a morning full of fun! Play Pagony’s board games, try out game-support tips from NestingPlay, and enjoy the joy of playing together!
Location: 1114 Bartók Béla Street 5, Budapest.
During this special Children's Day event, we’ll show you how to involve even those children who usually find it hard to join in or cooperate.
With simple tips and practical ideas, we’ll help make playing together a true shared experience that the whole family can enjoy!
A good board game brings lots of joy: shared laughter, exciting moments, and the thrill of winning — all while quietly helping develop social, communication, and thinking skills.
But what if your child or student struggles to join in?
At NestingPlay, these questions matter to us. We’ve noticed that many children don’t find board games fun, but experience it as failure, stress, or a fight against rules that seem unfair. It’s not because the child “can’t behave” or “isn’t paying attention.”
It might be because they:
Find the rules hard to understand, especially if they’re complicated or have many steps
Have trouble focusing and get easily distracted
Struggle to handle losing and may get upset or quit
Stick too much to their own ideas and find it hard to adapt to others’ play styles
Feel overwhelmed by too many choices and can’t decide
Get frustrated if others learn the game faster or take turns quicker
Feel discouraged by mistakes and prefer to quit rather than risk being wrong
Can’t wait their turn and get bored or impatient
Avoid trying again because of past negative experiences

These situations often don't even appear in educational assessments, and in everyday life we might simply see a child and think: “They just don't like board games.” But it may be that they simply need more supportto experience play as a true source of joy.
At NestingPlay, we are working to make play accessible for everyone. That’s why we’ve created support materials that:
explain game rules more simply, using visual aids,
offer alternative game versions for children who find rules overwhelming or have difficulty waiting their turn,
provide practical tips on how to respond when a child becomes angry, makes a mistake, or doesn’t want to play,
help children learn to think more flexibly and adapt better to others.
In collaboration with Pagony board games, we’re working to ensure that meaningful, developmental play is available to all children — not just those who “learn easily.”
Join us at Pagony’s game events, where NestingPlay’s game masters will be present — with care, patience, and plenty of understanding.
Board games are for everyone. We’re here to help make that truly possible.
